A weird and stupid dream woke me up by violent mouth spasms. After having my morning coffee and sitting quietly to hear my Heavenly Father’s direction. my thoughts went to the precious people of my past who were supportive and loving. They were former bosses, fellow musicians and close friends. They died suddenly or by Cancer.
Just recently, one of my beloved Christian sisters lost her beau of thirty years.. I accompanied her as she prepared for his death. His kidneys had failed because of alcohol addiction and he was in very fragile condition in ICU. Pam shared with me many accounts of her Kevin’s sweet and gentle disposition and her grief of him being unable to give up drinking. Kevin’s last days were excruciatingly painful and as she stayed at his bedside the whole time, her heart was breaking. It was unbearable to see him struggling just to breath and be almost in a comatose state. I could not imagine myself going through that with my own husband, Mark .Understand that Satan comes to kill. steal and destroy and he certainly has trashed multitudes of souls to heaven and mostly to hell.
As I thought about the cruelty of Kevin’ suffering, I thought about some of the NDE YouTube (near death experiences) of people who Jesus took to hell. The description of the demons tormenting the people broke my heart and I often wept that the demons could be so horrifically barbaric in their chastisements. After my tearful tirade, I became intensely angry that so many of them were tormenting innumerable people in hell and on earth, at present, (including myself, my Christian brethren and beloved pastors).
As the great Martin Luther’s hymn declares, “For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe; His craft and pow’r are great, and, armed with cruel hate”. Perfectly described: cruel hate. Satan despises God and His creation with such ferocity, it cannot be fathomed, only by our Lord Jesus Christ.
And gracious and mercifully, His empathy was so divine that His heart broke to see the suffering as is described in Mat. 9:36. Jesus, seeing the crowds and feeling compassion for them because they were “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
As I remember my early years ministering to the elderly and dying in nursing homes, God cultivated and intensified my gift of compassion. Because of enduring many decades of serious and disabling chronic illnesses, I have a strong ability to empathize and at least attempt to impart some level of relief and love.
After directly ministering in compassion in hospice and nursing home environments and having listened to heart-rending videos of tortured people in hell, I pray that God’s people will up their level of evangelism and one on one ministry. Hell is no joke and it is for real! All of the people experiencing NDE have said that those they met in hell urged them to tell everyone to repent and live Holy, authentic lives. God calls us to worship him in spirit and in truth.
I am most shocked by the NDE testimonies describing self-proclaimed Christians, pastors and worship leaders being tormented in hell. Why? Jesus told them that they spoke devotion and service with their lips, but their hearts were far from Him! This really got me thinking and soul-searching. Remember, when Jesus told the disciples, “ I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”.
This declaration of Jesus should be the one all of us Christians should fear the most and we would be wise to heed the word in Isaiah 55:6 &7. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while he is near. Let the wicked man forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord. that he may have compassion and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
Dear one, as you read this blog, know that “Now is the time of Salvation.” None of us are promised tomorrow.. God is a holy God and will not tolerate sin. He is so holy that he turned away from his only begotten son on the cross! It is time to wake up and ponder our eternal destiny. It is time to show gratitude and praise God and Jesus for every blessing, small and great. It is time to humble ourselves and know that we are but dust and it is only because of His kindness that He has chosen us to be adoptees into His royal family!
That all being said, some of you may scoff. “I don’t believe in hell or I don’t believe God would send anyone to hell.” Go to the Book of proverbs and learn about wisdom. Check out some of those NDE video testimonies and deeply ponder your eternal destiny. I know one thing, if I would even take a chance to disbelieve my eternal destiny and find out to my utter horror that I am engulfed by the flames of hell and being torn apart by horrific demons, I would then realize…eternity is a long time to be wrong!
Repent today. Ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior of your life and ask the Holy Spirit to purify and cleanse you.

I believe that Jesus Christ, your son, died on the cross for me that my sins may be forgiven and I can have eternal life. I believe that you raised Him from the dead. Please forgive me for every sin I have ever committed. Come into my heart as my personal LORD and Savior. I surrender my life to you, and ask you to take full control of my life from this moment on.
