About the Father’s Business

So, I fell upon a YouTube video today as I was preparing to ask the Lord what He wanted me to do. My eyes fell upon a video from America’s got Talent show where people from all over the world come to display their gifts in the hopes of winning a great prize. I don’t have alot of time to spend watching YouTube videos, because I am occupied being about my Father’s business with my own blogs, music and mentoring.

What moved me was this precious young guy’s motivation for being on America’s Got Talent. The 17 year old already founded his foundation to help his people of Nairobi, Kenya. A clip was shown of starving children. His heart was to set the captives free in his nation. You could tell by the judges reaction as he sang so passionately a Gospel song that he truly had a captivating, holy anointing and great calling!

I’ve also had a great passion and love for suffering people and pray that someday soon my non-profit ministry to wounded and despairing people would be realized. As I shared in my blog, The Road, I’m not only concerned about the present bondage and suffering of people, but mostly their eternal destiny. I believe most of us (Gods children, called out of darkness into His marvelous light) are unaware of the urgency of ushering people’s forward momentum into salvation in Christ. Many of us feel bad when we see footage of deadly natural disasters, but does it move us into action?

I will never forget hearing about the gigantic Tsunami which hit the Sulawesi coast in Indonesia on December 26, 2004. We Americans and many around the world had just enjoyed our Christmas. I was so shocked at the devastation that I cried, weeping for the precious, hapless souls caught unawares and dragged into eternity, most without Christ. The 7.5 earthquake caused liquefaction, making the solid surface of the ground turn to liquid. This horrific catastrophe has impacted me deeply

.

And then, just recently, we witnessed the destruction of southern Turkey on February 6, 2023. Over 50,00 people perished and entered into their eternal place. Again, I was so devastated and reeling in sorrow, wondering how many were now enjoying eternal peace and rest. Certainly, most of us cried and prayed for the survivors. What can we do? Often and for days, I felt a certain rage that satan delighted in this horrific and cruel event.

As a very sensitive journalist and songwriter, I have grappled deeply with the concept of sudden disaster quenching the lives of millions. Like the prophet Habakkuk, I have asked the Lord, “How can you look upon such evil?” I ponder if there could have been any chance of people being saved in the nick of time, by angels or Jesus Himself.

Please take seriously.

Precious one, we are in the end times and I trumpet a Clarion call to all people.to seriously consider the Book of Revelation. If you are a musician, artist or business person, it is not business as usual. Yes, you need not give up pursuing endeavors, but our first priority should be to seek Christ with all our hearts and ask Him how we can sow into His harvest of souls. I take very seriously, my calling to influence people for Christ and to go one step further, to mentor them in God’s perfect truth. Now is not the time to be fearful of rejection for our bold testimony and invitation. of Salvation. There is no other way to heaven, but through the precious Lamb of God. We can’t obtain God’s favor by good works, clean living or trust in earthly idols. And so I beg you today, consider and share your testimony and faith in whatever conduit you have. Time is short.

In my first year of learning the guitar, God gave me lyrics and chords for a precious and compassionate song, I Can Still Cry.. The words came to me as i pondered various tragedies that befall humanity: a bombing, domestic violence, starvation and genocide. Perhaps by listening to my song, you will ask God to make your heart tender to those suffering and doomed. Ask him to avail you ways to tangibly fill a need or change a life through compassionate Christ discipleship.

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent I ask you to forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases You. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
Amen.

Joy in the journey.  I'd always hoped that the road would gently unwind before me as i struggled to ascend to higher heights, while being pushed backwards, by the  continual and daunting symptoms of my many ailments. Just last week, as I was uploading my original songs and past gigs, to this website, i remembered  the anguish and  exhaustion   of supporting myself by delivering telephone books during the  day and  most evenings, I would be performing at the Oakland House, a private  event or a local tavern. My love for composing on the guitar and collaborating on original music with  John DeGrazio and Kyle Hicks saved me from suicidal  thoughts. God always made a way for me to  get fund to produce and record my songs in the studio.  I'll never forget  crying out  to God as I pushed a hand truck loaded with heavy telephone books, wondering why I wasn't touring with my band and respected.   The staggering fatigue from the  Lyme symptoms and  my carbon monoxide poisoning episode made me feel inferior and cursed,  The constant eking out a living wore down my spirits often and i wondered what my destiny was. 

      Angst, disappointment and regret, weighed me down often during my long Dystonia battle. but as I've finally come of age this late in my life, I acquiesce to the reality of Christ being my solid foundation. God's precepts have sheltered me from the sting of hatred, unforgiveness and retaliation. I know that His peace tempers me to have a grateful heart and make the most of every opportunity, however small.  I cherish, Moses' Psalm 90:12.

       Teach us to number our days that we may know wisdom.   

      No need to keep asking  Father God..."why"

       In the past, I often felt ,my creative and musical endeavors were not allowed to bear  the fruit they deserved for whatever reason. i wanted to be successful fashion designer, best selling author, renowned poet or well-loved music icon. too often, my creations had to be postponed indefinitely because of   constant interruptions of lie-threatening illnesses.. Worse yet, fewer and fewer invitations came as people became aware that the TMJ Dystonia symptoms  were diminishing my . I noticed with great anxiety, that my vocal prowess and guitar skill was also strained.  I'd expected  that I'd  get better with age, not worse.

       And so,, I determined in my heart, I would push forward no matter how much it hurt. I could not quit because of what Christ did for me. He destined me to be a conqueror and i was to  be a role model for precious  girls and women whose lives were shattered by trauma. As I scan  the horizon of my future, I'm assured that  He will bring beauty out of the ashes.  Behold, He arose  and redeemed me!
